OneLife is a brand of air purifiers originating from the German company getAir in Moenchengladbach. Its air purifier is designed as part of the room: with German development, a washable collector, and materials such as bamboo and recycled plastic.

Who OneLife is and where it comes from

OneLife was founded in 2019 as a spin-off from getAir in Moenchengladbach, Germany. getAir specialises in decentralised residential ventilation, while air-cleaning technology development within this group dates back to 2015.

The brand combines German engineering and design, but not as a conventional household appliance that you want to hide in a corner. OneLife understands the air purifier as an object that can be a visible part of a living or working space.

A washable collector instead of regular main filter replacements

The key difference in OneLife’s approach is the filter design. Instead of a dense consumable filter that is thrown away after a certain time and bought again, the device uses a washable particle collector.

For the customer, this means less regular purchasing of main filters and more predictable maintenance. According to the manufacturer’s fair wording, with regular and careful cleaning the filter unit can last for the entire service life of the device.

Materials chosen for more than just appearance

In terms of design, OneLife moves away from the look of conventional plastic. The device uses a bamboo frame, recycled plastic and a textile front cover, so the product feels more like a piece of interior furnishing than a technical device.

Bamboo is a natural material, so the colour and wood structure may differ from the photograph. This is not a defect, but a property of the material that gives each piece a slightly different appearance.

Design, awards and selection at AKVAVENT

OneLife X has received two separate Red Dot Award: Product Design 2022 awards in the Air Purifier category, one of which also carried the Innovative Product distinction. The jury highlighted above all the reusable filter unit, the use of sustainability-oriented and recycled materials, and the timeless design.
